Chief Phil Lane Staking Ceremony, San Onofre State Park Beach, October 29, 2016

At 11:00 AM under a rare “black moon” Chief Phil Lane conducted a Staking Ceremony on the beach at San Onofre within sight of the now defunct nuclear power plant known as SONGS, the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station.  More than 25 people made the difficult hike to the bottom of the cliffs to forcefully drive  a stake into the ground signifying their intent to stop the storage of deadly nuclear waste on the beach at San Onofre.
