California Energy Commission objects to plans to eliminate emergency planning for a nuclear emergency at SONGS.

This three-page letter articulates grave concerns about the nature of emergency planning at the new defunct SONGS, the San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. It was written by the Chair of the California Energy Commission. It contains strong objections to Southern California Edison’s plans to completely eliminate funding and offsite response capabilities to a radioactive nuclear waste disaster.
